PET has outstanding dimensional stability, as it is virtually unaffected by ambient moisture, low coefficient of friction and superb wear resistance which combined with low creep and high modulus make PET the perfect plastic for moving parts.
PET is not particularly hot water resistant however it has better resistance to acids than Nylon or Acetal.
It is mostly used in bushings and bearings, cams, electrical insulators, filter tracks, food piston pumps, feeder blocks, fuel pump component, fuel system connectors and rotors, gear, liquid and gas proof parts, locating disks, mandrels, manifolds, wear strips, valves and valve bodies and timing screws.
