What is tolerance?

We all need a little tolerance. In the ePOL engineering plastics range that is why we specify a tolerance range of +/0 2.00mm

Tolerance is just another word for accuracy.

When you specify dimensions for a custom cutting job, we will cut your material to that dimension provided, with a tolerance of +/- 2mm.

For example, when you order a full length of round bar (e.g.: R100-NAT – 100 -NATURAL CAST NYLON 100 diameter) cut into 10 off billets 50.00mm wide the final product will be cut to 50.00mm +/0 2.00mm If the final size falls outside of your required finished machine size you will need to factor this into your cut list instructions.

Furthermore, if your material is going to undergo further processing, such as machining or turning on a lathe, then it is important to leave some material on the length to allow you to machine this work back to your finished size.

You will need to specify a cut size that allows you to complete any further processing. If you are unsure, we recommend that you check with the machinist completing your processing to ensure you have left enough material for them to complete this task.

Please ensure you allow for this additional material when ordering and do not use the tolerance as the cut size as cut pieces are not able to be returned or refunded.

Also note that we can cut only up to 250 in diameter.

2. Will my order be checked for accuracy?

   • No

3. Can I get the whole length of product cut into billets?

   • No, we need 70.00mm to hold product for safe handling

4. What if I do not receive all the billets I order on the ePOL platform?

   • ePOL will cut your product to the full lengths ordered only. If short supplied a revised order will need to be issued.

5. Will I receive the full length of product after cutting?

   • Yes

6. How long does it take to get product cut?

   • Add an extra 2 to 3 days to our standard shipping terms

7. Do you mitre cut product?

   • No

8. Will my goods be shipped FIS

   • Yes, if the order qualifies for our FIS terms
